ER FILMLOOK STATBURBANK--After the live season premiere episode of "ER" was aired, producers turned to FILMLOOK to process elements from the live show for inclusion into the recap portion on the following week's program. The recap incorporated film elements from
last season's episodes, as well as video elements from the live
show--which FILMLOOK processed. FILMLOOK's film simulation process
blended the video elements with the telecined elements seamlessly
in order to achieve a more integrated look.
HOLLYWOOD--The hit military action adventure series "Pensacola--Wings of Gold" has recruited FILMLOOK to process video stock shots along with some occasional production sequences in video for the film program. The series features military stock footage
mostly shot in video and processed in FILMLOOK for editing into
each episode, but there are also principal scenes featuring the
lead actors in the cockpits of actual fighter aircraft and helicopters
that were shot with video equipment due to time, space or security
limitations. "Pensacola" airs nationally in syndication.
QUEBEC--Sovicom Inc. is currently producing the weekly drama "Diva," a video production, DP'd by Serge Desrosier, recorded in digital Betacam video and processed in FILMLOOK. This is the first hour long drama series to be produced in Canada that has been entirely processed in FILMLOOK. The drama centers on a high-profile modeling agency and the pressures and internal conflicts that exist among the characters. "Diva" airs on Thursdays at 8PM EST on Tele-Metropole (TVA) in Quebec.

FILMLOOK'S GOLDEN OPPORTUNITYMILWAUKEE--Steve Boettcher Productions has finished the PBS special "The Gold Rush," a documentary shot in video and processed in FILMLOOK. The special, narrated by John Lithgow, chronicles
the beginnings of California's Gold Rush era worldwide, the economic
and environmental impacts, the tragic losses and the entrepreneurial
exploits of some of the most famous people and corporations of
the era. "The Gold Rush" can be seen on PBS at 10 p.m.
on Tuesday, January 20, 1998.
FILMLOOK PROGRAM UPDATEOn another programming note, watch for "FutureWar" produced by fleisherfilms airing on Discovery at 9 p.m. EST/PST January 18 and 4 p.m. EST/PST January 25, 1998.
SAN FRANCISCO--Taing Walton has produced and
directed "East Bay Perinatal Video," a short film shot
in video and processed by FILMLOOK that was presented by the
Alameda School District for its students. The provocative educational
video is intended as a starting point for student discussion
of such topics as date rape, teen violence, pregnancy, and racial
division. The video also features the song "The Eyes of
a Young Soul" by Wit-G Records artist Dynastee and will
be shown at schools in the San Francisco and Oakland area.
